The Alchmist by Paulo Colho

book coverSummary: A shepherd, Santiago, from Spain travels and travels to Egypt where people and his dreams lead him to seek his treasure at the pyramids. On his journey, a gypsy, an Englishman who is an alchemist, and an elderly man who says he is a king give the Shepherd wisdom to find his treasure. Why I picked it up: I picked this book up because of how the critics were amazed and interested in this book. The book was also claimed to be an international bestselling phenomenon.

Why I kept reading it: I kept reading it because I was interested in how Santiago would achieve to reach his treasure and how he went from being a shepherd to wealthy traveler by listening to what his heart was saying is also quite interesting, but knowing what his treasure really is a question that kept me reading this book.

Who would I give it to next: I would recommend the book to anybody who wants to read an inspiring book that would teach you to listen to yourself and to do what you desire.
